Our History

So, where did BOBSTOCK come from, you ask?

Let’s take it back to early 2008. Sitting around the radio station, shooting the breeze on a typical
Tuesday. It started with the simple thought that it isn’t strange for a radio station to host a live
music show.

In September of the previous year (2007) Media Logic Radio had built and put on a new radio
signal at 97.5 on the dial. Owner, Wayne Johnson had long searched for the right format for his
new station when “BOB” came along. BOB FM is a format dedicated to playing top hit music
from the “70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and whatever!” The format immediately caught on with local listeners
and begged the question, “who is BOB?”

Back to the pivotal day in 2008. BOB was still the new kid on the block regarding local radio
stations and the staff went looking for a way to make BOB stand out. Someone threw out the
idea of a free concert in the park. As the conversation went on another staffer said, “well if we
do that, we have to call it WAYNE-STOCK” (after owner Wayne Johnson). After more
discussion the team decided BOBSTOCK (play on Woodstock, of course) would be the name of
their first free concert.

Sponsorships were sought out, a stage was rented, and 4 music acts were set to perform,
including Colorado founded, American Rock Group, Firefall. The show went on with a handful of
vendors, a couple hundred attendees, and a small taste of what putting together a free music
event entailed.

Fast forward almost two decades and you wouldn’t recognize Bobstock today if you’d only
attended the first show or two. The venue has moved from Riverside Park in Fort Morgan to
blanket the entire downtown corridor of Fort Morgan. Stages have been added as the event
grew, totaling 5 performance stages today. Over 140 vendors flock to Main Street in Fort
Morgan for the weekend, and countless local businesses join in the fun when Bobstock comes
to town!

The list of National performers has come a long way as well.
(Current and Past Acts)

Although the 97.5 BOB FM staff has seen many changes, the prices of headliners have
skyrocketed, and the event has evolved, there is one thing about Bobstock that won’t ever
change. The Bobstock Music Festival will always remain a FREE event for all to attend.
Whether you’ve been with us since July 5th, 2008, or this will be your first Bobstock Music
Festival all of us at 97.5 BOB FM and Media Logic Radio just want to say….” ROCK ON!”
